Ross Dam
Description
An Application by the City of Seattle, Washington, for permission to increase by stages the height of Ross Dam on the Skagit River in Washington and flood land in British Columbia.
Outcome
The Application was approved by the IJC, conditional on a binding agreement between Seattle and British Columbia. An agreement was signed in 1967 but in 1974 the province requested that the agreement be declared invalid. The matter was finally resolved under the 1984 Skagit Treaty between Canada and the United States.
