IJC releases consolidated Order for Rainy and Namakan Lakes
The International Joint Commission (IJC) proposes to issue an Order for the regulation of water levels on Rainy and Namakan Lakes, which consolidates the original 1949 Order and all subsequent Supplementary Orders. A copy of the consolidated Order is enclosed.
The consolidated Order makes no substantive changes to the previous Orders. The intent is to make the Order easier to work with for the IJC, its International Rainy Lake Board of Control and the public. The IJC invites public comment on the consolidated Order since it will officially replace previous Orders. Comments may be sent to either of the following addresses for receipt by February 28, 2001:
