International Joint Commission Extends Public Comment Period on Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Study Board’s Final Flooding Report
The International Joint Commission (IJC) has extended the public comment period for the International Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Study Board’s final report on flooding in the basin until Oct. 14, 2022. The report investigated the causes, impacts, risks and potential solutions to flooding in the basin, which is shared between Quebec, New York and Vermont.
Members of the public are encouraged to leave comments by emailing commission@ijc.org, by mail, or by registering on the www.ijc.org website. For more information visit https://ijc.org/en/public-comments-final-report-lake-champlain-richelieu-river-study-board
The IJC will review and consider all comments received before issuing its final recommendations to the US and Canadian governments by the end of the year. The governments will then be responsible for accepting and implementing any of the recommendations.
