The International Lake Champlain Richelieu River Study Board was established by the International Joint Commission to complete the work outlined in Option B of the 2013 Plan of Study to more fully explore the causes, impacts, risks, and solutions to flooding in the Lake Champlain-Richelieu River basin. In November 2015, the International Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Technical Working Group presented their final report and technical reports to the International Joint Commission on two components related to the 2013 Plan of Study.

The International Lake Champlain-Richelieu River Study Board will recommend to the International Joint Commission flood mitigation measures as well as tools for flood forecasting and preparedness. The Study Board’s final report is expected in 2021.
