Public Consultation Meeting on IJC Upper Great Lakes Plan of Study

Date

The International Joint Commission’s (IJC) Upper Great Lakes Plan of StudyTeam will be conducting public consultation sessions at eight locations throughout the upper Great Lakes basin, during the period October 31 through November 15, 2001.

All meetings are scheduled from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the exception of Duluth, at which two meetings will be conducted—from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and from 7 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Team has the responsibility of preparing a plan of study to review the operations of the IJC-approved water control structures at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Ontario. These operations affect water levels and flows in the Upper Great Lakes.

The Team welcomes and encourages comments from government officials, key organizations, and the general public on the Plan of Study preparation.

Meeting locations are as noted below.

An opportunity to participate in one or more of the meetings by toll-free telephone lines will also be provided. Details will follow on the web site.
