International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board Water Levels Committee to Host Virtual Public Information Session in Support of the Rule Curve Strategy

The International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board (IRLWWB) Water Levels Committee (Committee) will host a virtual pre-spring information session on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. CST. The Committee ensures that International Joint Commission orders for the operation of the dams on the Rainy River and outlets of Namakan Lake are followed. 

 

This information session will include an overview of the current watershed conditions and seasonal weather forecasts in support of the regulation strategy that will be initiated by the Committee on March 10, 2025. There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share their observations on winter conditions in the watershed. There will be an in-person Water Levels Committee public meeting the evening of March 11, 2025, in International Falls, MN at the Minnesota North College- Rainy River Campus. More details on the March 11 public meeting will be released in the coming weeks.
