In collaboration with a diversity of partners, the International Joint Commission's (IJC) Great Lakes Science Advisory Board is developing a Great Lakes Science Plan for the Next Generation that anticipates science needs to address environmental changes that the region will face over the next generation.
The IJC seeks input from equity-deserving communities, and Tribes, First Nations and Métis from around the Great Lakes on the future of Great Lakes science.
From Fall 2024 to Summer 2025 there will be events to engage with equity-deserving communities and Tribes, First Nations and Métis to ensure these perspectives on water quality topics are documented and represented in the future of Great Lakes Science.

Provide input via questionnaire: The IJC's listening sessions aim to understand Great Lakes community needs and challenges regarding (but not limited to) water quality research, monitoring, modeling, workforce development, and science infrastructure. If you are unable to attend a session but would like to share your thoughts, or you have attended a session and would like to share more thoughts, please fill out this short questionnaire.
If you would like to be part of this effort, are hosting events where this topic may be discussed, or know of Tribes, First Nations or Métis to connect with, contact Ian Stone, Great Lakes Sea Grant Fellow.
