
International Kootenay Lake Board of Control to Host Annual Public Meeting in Nelson, BC
The International Kootenay Lake Board of Control will hold its annual public meeting at the Hume Hotel, located at 422 Vernon Street in Nelson, British Columbia, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. (PDT) Wednesday, May 7. There also will be an option to participate virtually.
No registration is required for in-person participation, although we ask that you complete a sign-in sheet at the door. You may register on the MS Teams platform to participate in the webinar.
At the meeting, the board will present information on the regulation of Kootenay Lake and the operation of Corra Linn Dam under the International Joint Commission’s 1938 Order of Approval. The board also will present information on Kootenay Lake water level management, an overview of current conditions, an update on board projects, and will hear questions and comments from the public regarding lake level management and board activities.
Annual public board meetings normally alternate each year between Nelson, British Columbia, and Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
The International Kootenay Lake Board of Control oversees the Corra Linn Dam at the outlet of Kootenay Lake in British Columbia, which receives water from tributaries flowing through Idaho, Montana and British Columbia.

- The International Kootenay Lake Board of Control oversees the operation of Corra Linn Dam to manage water levels in Kootenay Lake.
- The board is led by United States Section Chair Colonel Kathryn Sanborn and Canadian Section Chair Joel Trubilowicz.
- Please note this public meeting is not in regards to the International Elk - Kootenai/y Watershed Water Pollution Study or the International Elk-Kootenai/y Watershed Study Board.
