International Elk-Kootenai/y Watershed Study Board Summer Listening Sessions
The International Elk-Kootenai/y Watershed Study Board (Study Board) will host public listening sessions in the Elk-Kootenai/y watershed this summer.
The Study Board is an independent body comprised of experts and knowledge holders established by the International Joint Commission (IJC) to explore the impacts of water pollution in the Kootenai/y watershed as well as impacts to humans and species. The study was launched in September 2024 and will conclude in September 2026.
The Study Board is planning three listening sessions over the summer months: two in-person, and one virtual.
In-person Listening Session 1 | Tuesday June 3, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00PM MT | Fernie, BC Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge, 1622 7th Avenue |
Virtual Listening Session | Tuesday July 8, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:30PM MT | Online only |
In-person Listening Session 2 | Wednesday August 6, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00PM MT | Location to be announced (check back here) |

Méthodes pour participer
You can participate either in-person at one of the two in-basin listening sessions in June and August, 2025 in Fernie, BC or Bonners Ferry, ID or you can participate virtually online on July 8, 2025.
